Studying the form, role and application of Tabrizin in the Qajar period

During the Qajar period, the use of firearms became common for the first time in order to coincide with the industrial revolution. During this period, cold weapons were produced and used in a limited way with symbolic and ceremonial applications. Tabrizins are a group of cold weapons of the Qajar period, whose role and form are very diverse and extensive.

This article seeks to answer the question of how Qajar tabrizins can be classified in terms of form and role, and what were their uses? Therefore, the purpose of this article is to study and classify the form, role and application of Tabrizin in the Qajar period. This research is applied based on its purpose and descriptive-analytical based on its nature and method. The method of compiling this thesis was done by library and field method.

The method of making all of them is casting. Qajar period swords are divided into four groups based on their form: 1- Tabrizin with a double-edged blade, 2- Tabrizin with a single-edged blade and a spearhead, 3- Tabrizin with a single-edged blade and a dragon-like blade, 4- Tabrizin with a single-edged blade and a crown-like head. It is divided. Based on the classification of Tabrizin motifs in three groups 1- Geometric plant motifs (including flowers and leaves, bergamots and all kinds of geometric lines and frames) 2- Inscription motifs (including Arabic expressions, Persian poetry or Some Persian phrases include the orderer of Tabrizin) -3- Human-animal motifs (including human figures and different animals such as lion, snake, or two birds whose faces are facing each other) can be seen.
