According to documents in the Islamic history of the Mamluk era, it has been one of the most Islamic metalworking art and the dominant landowner has been one of the most important centers of metalworking. The form and the role of the early work of the Mamluk metalwork can be considered as a combination of metallurgical properties of adjacent territories, which, due to their creativity and high skill in metalworking, ultimately led to the creation of a unique and independent style that contributed greatly to growth and the development of Islamic metalworking art performance.The main purpose of the research is to introduce and analyze some examples of Mamluk metalwork preserved in the Metropolitan Museum, and to analyze the concepts and themes hidden in the motifs of the works.In line with this, the main question of the current research is what motifs were used in the decoration of Mamluk metal works and what was the relationship between the decorative and content patterns in these works with the patterns of previous traditions and contemporary civilizations?Due to the large number of works, four samples of the works in the Metropolitan Museum have been analyzed and examined as study samples to investigate the role and decoration.The research, which is of the type of qualitative research, has been made in the form of library studies in terms of the type of descriptive-analytical method and information gathering method.The results of this research show that human, animal, plant, inscription and geometric motifs are used in the decoration of these works.Also, in the design of these motifs, it has been influenced by other regions, including Iran and Anatolia
